Pima County Inmate Lookup Portal

The Pima County Sheriff has an online inmate lookup tool. Go to www.sheriff.pima.gov/inmate to start a search. The roster shows people currently in custody at the Pima County Adult Detention Center. Information updates throughout the day as bookings and releases happen.

Pima County Detention Facilities

Pima County operates two jail facilities. The main one is the Pima County Adult Detention Complex in Tucson. This large facility holds most inmates in the county. The address is 1270 W. Silverlake Road, Tucson, AZ 85713. Call (520) 351-8111 for information about inmates at this location.

The second facility is the Ajo District Jail. It serves the western part of Pima County near the border. This smaller jail holds fewer inmates. Call (520) 387-8511 for the Ajo jail. Most people arrested in the Tucson area will be at the main detention complex.

Pima County Jail Records Request

You can get copies of jail records from the Pima County Sheriff. The records request page explains how to order reports. Each report costs $5.00. If your report is longer than 20 pages, add $0.25 for each extra page. The records office charges $15 per hour for staff time after the first hour.

Contact the records unit at (520) 351-8228 to ask about specific records. The Sheriff's main headquarters is at (520) 351-4600. Crime victims can get one free copy of their report under Arizona law. Bring ID and proof that you were the victim.

Medical records from the jail are kept for 6 years. You need a signed release from the inmate to get medical files. Other records like booking sheets and charge documents are public and anyone can request them.

Visiting Pima County Inmates

Pima County offers both on site and remote video visits. On site visits are at the jail. You get one free 30 minute visit per week. Extra on site visits cost $9.00 for 30 minutes. Remote visits from home cost $0.25 per minute through the GTL GettingOut system.

Pima County Jail vs State Prison

The county jail and state prison serve different roles. Pima County jails hold people before trial and those with short sentences. State prison holds people serving more than one year for felonies. These are separate systems with separate records.

Someone arrested in Tucson goes to Pima County jail first. If convicted and sentenced to state prison, they transfer to ADCRR. To find people in state prison, search the ADCRR database at inmatedatasearch.azcorrections.gov. The county jail roster will not show them after transfer.

People move between systems when they have new charges or court dates. An inmate might leave state prison to come back to county jail for a hearing. Check both databases when searching for someone.

Pima County covers Tucson and several smaller cities. When local police make arrests, the person goes to the county jail. Each city police department keeps its own arrest records. The jail roster is countywide.
